    Star Wars: The Old Republic is a massively-multiplayer role-playing game set 300 years after the events of BioWare's Knights of the Old Republic series, but still approximately 3,600 years before the events of the films.

    • Aloysius Kallig An ancient Sith Lord who lived during the time of the Old Sith Empire.
    • Arcann Son of Immortal Emperor Valkorion and brother to Thexan, he is one of the main antagonists in the "Knights of the Fallen Empire" expansion for Star Wars: The Old Republic.
    • Bastila Shan Bastila Shan is a Jedi Sentinel of considerable talent and ability, although she is headstrong and a little impulsive. She is a primary character in BioWare's seminal entry into the Star Wars universe, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.
    • Blizz Blizz is a Jawa. He is a companion character for the Bounty Hunter
    • Bowdaar Bowdaar is a Wookie. He is a companion character for the Smuggler.
    • Corso Riggs Corso Riggs is a companion character in Star Wars: The Old Republic. He partners up with the Smuggler.
    • Darth Angral A high-ranking Sith Lord who the Jedi Knight battles during the course of their story
    • Darth Baras A Sith Lord during the Cold War and master of the Sith Warrior who will become the Emperor's Wrath.
    • Darth Ekkage Darth Baras' sister and fellow Sith Lord, a threat so great the Emperor's Wrath must partner with a Jedi to defeat her.
    • Darth Malgus Sith Lord from The Old Republic, most recognizable for appearing in the first CGI trailer for the game. Voiced by Jamie Glover.
    • Darth Marr An enigmatic Sith Lord who conceals his face behind a mask similar to Revan's, Darth Marr is one of the most senior members of the Emperor's Dark Council before later turning on him after he becomes Valkorion.
    • Darth Mortis One of the Sith Lords who sits on the Dark Council. Unlike his fellow council member Thanaton, he is less obsessed with preserving ancient traditions.
    • Darth Revan One of the most powerful Force-users of all time. Revan was a Jedi Knight who became a hero during the Mandalorian Wars, but later turned to the Dark Side, forming his own Sith Empire against the Republic, which began the Jedi Civil War.
    • Darth Thanaton An arrogant and elitist Sith Lord who serves as the primary nemesis of the Inquisitor in the latter's story.
    • Darth Vowrawn An affable and friendly Sith Lord who assists the Emperor's Wrath after their betrayal by Darth Baras.
    • Elara Dorne Elara is a companion for the Trooper in Star Wars: The Old Republic
    • Empress Acina A leader of the Sith Empire in the post-Vitiate period, she proposes an alliance with the Outlander against their common enemies.
    • Exar Kun An ancient Sith Lord who's spirit still lingers on Yavin IV
    • Freedon Nadd An ancient Sith Lord responsible for helping to turn Exar Kun to the Dark Side. Buried on Dxun.
    • Havoc Squad Commander The Republic Trooper player character in Star Wars: The Old Republic
    • Hylo Visz A Mirialan smuggler who has history with the Bounty Hunter's Devaronian companion, Gault Rennow
    • Jaesa Willsaam A member of the Jedi Order who comes to join the Sith Warrior and becomes their apprentice and possibly also lover. Can also be made to fall to the Dark Side in full depending on the Sith Warrior's actions.
    • Jedi Exile Meetra Surik, otherwise known as The Jedi Exile, is the main protagonist of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords. After Revan's disappearance and the near collapse of the Republic, Surik remains as the last Jedi.
    • Kira Carsen A human female who is a companion character to the Jedi Knight class.
    • Lord Kallig II Descendant of Aloysius Kallig and a powerful Sith Inquisitor. Their Darth title differs depending on their alignment.
    • Lord Scourge Lord Scourge is a companion character to the Jedi Knight.
    • Marka Ragnos An ancient, and in fact one of the very first, Dark Lords of the Sith. His spirit serves as the final boss in the Light Side ending of Jedi Academy.
    • Senya Tirall The mother of Arcann, Thexan, and Vaylin, she opposes her husband Valkorion owing to his abusive treatment of them.
    • Soa the Infernal One A gigantic, immensely powerful Force-sensitive Rakatan, he was imprisoned in the Eternity Vault on Belsavis before breaking free to challenge both the Sith and the Republic.
    • T7-01 T7-01 is a droid. He is a companion character to the Jedi Knight.
