Life 360 and Risky Drive (2024)

Anonymous

Teen’s phone isn’t working properly, so he took two phones on a trip to friend’s house. Life 360 says risky drive for one of the trips, but the other says safe ride. I’m not familiar with this feature of the app. I’m assuming that one of the phones was being used at the time of driving to trigger the risky drive warning in only one of the devices. Anyone with familiarity of this feature?

Mine has said that before because i was listening to my music playlist on YouTube so life360 thought i was on my phone while driving.

It happen, if they are on the phone doing the "Drive".

MY DD has life 360, but when she on the school bus it has listed as "risky drive", also most of the time we go place it listed as "risky drive" it just means they were on the phone, if he wasn't driving it shouldn't be a problem.

Mine doesn’t have this but I only have the free version. Guess I’ll upgrade when DD is driving.

I just got this message when my boyfriend was driving. It just means that the person was driving while on their phone. If they weren’t on their phone and were in like a bus and or in the passenger seat like my boyfriend was then there shouldn’t be a problem at all.It says this all the time for me to my parents and the freak out lol! but I’m always in the passengers seat but i have this thing that won’t let me unlock my ovine whole drive so most of the time i won’t pop up lmao!!!!! I hope this helps anyone who was wondering and or curious 👀

People are crazy. If you need to track your kid this closely there are better ways to do it. Life 360 is nothing more than paid pat on the back for parents. It's a tool to make people feel like they are doing something they should be doing. It is a placebo.

To the people are crazy comment person.
My kid signed us up for life 360 not me. Moving to a big city was scary for her and she wanted us to know where she was. There is a free version - so there you go. Getting all the information usually can help with keeping from making negative generalized judgments about people.

To whomever posted this, my son is a paramedic. We use this as a family of adults. They received a call from an adult asking the local police to go to a specific location because she noticed in the LIFE 360 that her father had not moved and it appeared he was on the side of the road. The police and paramedics arrived to find that her father had a medical incident and had passed away. It is so much more than just a tracker for children. I love this app. I work in the wireless industry and I recommend it ALL of the time!

While I do have the paid version, it has benefited more than once. I received a text from my son one evening asking me to come to his location. It also includes towing which we have used one time when a vehicle broke down. A close friend of ours has the app as well. Her 16yo was in a rollover accident. Life360 called her phone first due to the crash protection. When they didn’t get her, the call was made to the emergency personnel then the members of her circle. Another friend has it because her daughter is away at school. It offers roadside assistance as well.
While some of it is tracking (which teens know how to disable) the majority is safety.

My son used it (using my phone) when his ex girls stole his phone from a party and chucked it in the woods. lol.

It’s a great way to track parents as well ~ my kids can see where I am, if I’m on my way, but I also can check on my elderly parents as they are driving.

ugh that’s just too much information. Parenting is hard enough why add more parenting time when they are not even with you?

+1. I’ve turned off a lot of the info for my teen. It’s just too much and not healthy for my anxiety. I’ve set it up for my elderly parents though and it’s helpful. Sometimes they get lost and call us since they get confused with Waze.
