Ginger Kombucha - The Anti-Inflammatory Drink (2024)

You never know how healing a food can be, until healing is the only choice you have.

Ginger Kombucha - The Anti-Inflammatory Drink (2) Ginger is powerful medicine! I have been consuming ginger often and found it to be very effective in helping with any kind of inflammation. Ginger is anti-viral and anti-inflammatory as well as being a powerful antiseptic and antihistamine. I love ginger kombucha and have it more than any other flavored kombucha. It's one of my favorite ways to consume ginger and I think you will love it too!

Arthritis and Ginger

Ginger has been found very helpful for those struggling with arthritis. Ginger helps by breaking down existing inflammation and acidity in the fluid that can make for painful joints and arthritis. A study was done at the University of Denmarkon arthritic patients. Each patient was given small amounts of ginger for three months. Almost all the patients had significant improvement in pain, swelling, and morning stiffness by eating ginger daily.

Menstrual Cramps

Ginger has also been found to be as effective as ibuprofen in relieving pain frommenstrual cramps in women. During menstruation compounds found in ginger may help to protect against the increases in inflammation, by inhibiting the body's production of prostaglandins (a class of pro-inflammatory chemicals involved in triggering the muscle contractions that help the uterus shed its lining). My daughter swears by ginger for cramps and says it works the best if she uses at the first sign of cramping.

Asthma

Ginger's benefits for asthma are attributed to compounds found in ginger such as gingerols, shogaols, and zingerones. It has also been helping those with asthma by adding ginger compounds to isoproterenol, a type of asthma medication. Because ginger enhances bronchodilation and is anti-inflammatory, it helps to open the airways of those who suffer from asthma.

Blood Sugar and Diabetes

Over the years, gingerhas been shown to help reduceblood sugarlevels and help regulate insulin response in people with diabetes. Ginger root or ginger rhizome is rich in gingerols- the major active component of ginger. Researchers are finding ginger can increase uptake of glucose into muscle cells without using insulin, and may, therefore, assist in the management of high blood sugar levels. This can interact with serotonin receptors and seemingly have an effect on insulin secretion.

Ginger Root Capsules Work Too

Most doctors recommend taking ibuprofen for inflammation but I would encourage you to try ginger. If I have pain anywhere in my body I take ginger and it works. You might want to keep capsules of ginger on hand and use it as you would anti-inflammatory medicine. Three capsules work the best for me when I don't have time, or don't have any ginger root or kombucha available. Along with a healthy diet, this food like medicine will change your life if you give it a try.

Breathe More Clearly During Allergy Season

They say ginger works powerfully on allergies to reduce symptoms of hay fever, colds, and sinus infections. New studies show that it has properties that are even rivaling anti-inflammatory drugs on the market. And it's cheap and easy to find. There are so many benefits to ginger that I found pages of studies and research, but the real proof in the pudding is how it makes me and my family feel. My daughter Maci said that ginger has helped her breathe more clearly when pollen counts are high and have devised this recipe with fresh ginger root. I've been placing a one-inch slice of ginger root in my smoothies or juices every day. It's got a kick to it and I love the taste, and I do feel my sinuses open up like crazy. Don't use too much because it's really strong and can knock your socks off!

Isn't it wonderful there are foods available for us to consume and use in our daily lives that are more helpful than drugs? Do you think that in years ahead they will look back at us and shake their heads that we used drugs instead of foods to heal? I encourage you to try adding ginger to your diet and see if it doesn't bring healing to your life.

When you find a food that heals, celebrate and tell everyone! Ginger Kombucha - The Anti-Inflammatory Drink (3)
