Everything You Need to Know about Cote De Pablo’s New Show “MIA” (2024)

by Aiden Mason

There are a lot of people out there who should be familiar with Cote De Pablo’s name. Sure, she hasn’t appeared in a high-profile project in recent times, but there should still be plenty of NCIS fans who remember her character on the show with fondness. For said individuals, there is news that De Pablo is set to produce a new show for CBS, which should be particularly exciting because she will be co-producing it besides another NCIS alumnus Michael Weatherly.

What Do We Know about Cote De Pablo’s New Show?

Unfortunately, we don’t actually know that much about De Pablo and Weatherly’s new show, which is perhaps unsurprising considering that it sounds like it is still in the earlier stages of development. In short, the new show is called MIA. It will be centered on an undercover cop who has since become a homicide investigator. Meanwhile, it sounds as though the people behind the show will be going for an “odd couple” dynamic because it has been stated that said character will be teamed up with a much more by-the-books partner, which might be over-used but is nonetheless a tried and true method for generating inter-character tension. With that said, the biggest selling point is the reveal that the main character will have personal entanglements because of her last assignment as an undercover cop, which could pose a serious threat to her future in her chosen career.

Besides De Pablo and Weatherly, the show will be seeing the involvement of Shepard Boucher as well. Some people might be familiar with his name because of his involvement with Upload. However, Boucher is a writer as well as an executive producer for MIA, meaning that he will be sharing some of the same duties and responsibilities as De Pablo and Weatherly. As for De Pablo and Weatherly, well, their involvement with MIA seems to be limited to the two serving as executive producers for the time being.

Theoretically, it might be possible for De Pablo to play a character in MIA, assuming that the show ever gets the go-ahead from CBS for it to take up one of its precious hour slots. After all, she doesn’t seem to be involved in any other major projects at the moment, which suggests that she could be free for something like this. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for Weatherly. After all, Weatherly is already involved in a CBS show. To be exact, Weatherly is currently playing the part of the titular character on Bull, which is already on its third season. As a result, it seems safe to say that his schedule is filled up with other commitments, meaning that he probably wouldn’t have the spare time needed to play another major character on another show. Due to this, while De Pablo might show up in MIA at some point in the future, it seems safe to say that interested individuals won’t be seeing a De Pablo and Weatherly reunion on the TV screen anytime soon through said show.

Final Thoughts

Of course, there is no real way to tell what will happen to MIA in the future. Certainly, it is possible that CBS will give the people behind it the go-ahead to turn it into an actual show. However, it is important to remember that there are a lot of projects that get proposed than there are projects that actually get to make it onto the TV screen. Due to this, while there are likely to be a fair number of people out there who are excited by this latest piece of news, they shouldn’t see it as something that is sure to happen but rather as something that could happen. That way, they won’t have their hopes dashed if MIA never gets the go-ahead, which can be a rather unpleasant feeling to say the least.

Still, said individuals might want to keep a watchful eye on entertainment news in the months ahead. After all, this is interesting news, meaning that chances are good that further revelations will be reported as soon as they come out. As a result, interested individuals should have few problems following on the progress of the MIA project so long as they are willing to put in even a little bit of effort in this regard.
